About Salt & Sill

On the old herring island Klädesholmen outside Tjörn lies Salt & Sill, surrounded by Bohuslän's salty cliffs and islets. We are Sweden's first floating hotel and one of the west coast's most appreciated archipelago destinations, with a hotel, conference, and restaurant – right by the pier.

Our business has been run under the current management since the early 2000s and is characterized by a strong passion for food, people, and hospitality. The proximity to the sea and local ingredients permeates both our menus and guest experiences. We are a seasonal business with a high pace during parts of the year, where collaboration, responsibility, and commitment are crucial for the whole.

About the position

We are now looking for reinforcement for our housekeeping department starting in the spring. The position involves extra work as needed during spring and early summer, with a larger scope during the summer months, which is our peak season. Working hours vary throughout the season and are planned according to the needs of the business, with the possibility of extra shifts and potential extension even after summer.

This is how we usually describe the position

Housekeeping is a crucial part of the guest experience with us. In this role, you contribute to creating a clean, pleasant, and welcoming environment for our guests – both in hotel rooms and common areas. The work is practical and varied and requires attention to detail, responsibility, and good collaboration with colleagues in various parts of the business.

Your responsibilities in the role

The work involves cleaning and preparing hotel rooms, including making beds, cleaning bathrooms, and general tidiness. You are also responsible for cleaning common areas such as corridors, lobby, restaurant, and conference areas. The role includes handling laundry, bed linen, and towels according to established routines, as well as ensuring that cleaning materials and consumables are available. You report any damages or discrepancies in rooms and facilities and contribute to maintaining our high standards of cleanliness and quality every day.

Who we believe you are

We believe that you are a responsible and detail-oriented person who enjoys practical work. Experience in housekeeping or cleaning is an advantage but not a requirement – the most important thing is your attitude and willingness to do a good job. You are reliable, can work independently, and also find it easy to collaborate. The role requires some physical endurance and flexibility regarding working hours. You can communicate in Swedish and/or English in the job.

With us, you will

With us, you will work in a unique archipelago environment and become part of a workplace where collaboration and joy at work are highly valued. You are offered a varied seasonal job during the summer with the possibility of extra shifts as needed. Staff accommodation is available, and salary is according to agreement.

Practical information

The employment is seasonal, primarily with work from June to August. Working hours are scheduled for weekdays and weekends. A B driver's license and access to a car are required for the position.

Application Recruitment is ongoing, so we encourage you to submit your application as soon as possible. We look forward to hearing from you and together creating a pleasant and welcoming environment for our guests at Salt & Sill.
