Are you a nurse interested in pediatric care?

Are you a nurse who is curious about or has experience working with children or pediatric care? Are you attracted to the idea of working in a highly specialized pediatric care environment with varied clinical work and significant development opportunities? Then you are the one we are looking for to join our newly built children's ward at Astrid Lindgren Children's Hospital in Huddinge!

What we offer

  • a state-of-the-art, child-friendly, and newly built care environment
  • a meaningful job in highly specialized pediatric medicine within a multidisciplinary team
  • professional development, supervision, and regular reflection time
  • a tailored introduction based on your previous experiences
  • the opportunity to participate in a clinical foundation year for newly graduated nurses.

Of course, you will also benefit from our general benefits offered by Karolinska University Hospital.

About the position

The Pediatric Regional Care Unit (BRA) in Huddinge is Sweden's only care unit with specific pediatric medical expertise in hematology, nephrology, and gastro/hepatology. Here we care for children and adolescents from all over the country – and sometimes even from our Nordic neighboring countries – with both acute and chronic conditions. Lengths of stay can range from a few days to several months, and include care for children undergoing liver, kidney, or stem cell transplants, as well as patients with acute liver failure or in need of dialysis.

The unit is newly built and designed to eventually accommodate up to 16 patients. Currently, we have 5 operational beds, and the plan is to gradually increase our capacity as our team grows. The patient group is diverse, which allows you to work with a wide range of conditions and care interventions – a significant plus for your professional development.

If needed, we also assist with patients from other pediatric flows, contributing to a dynamic working method and promoting strong teamwork.

With us, patients and families often return, and we are therefore particularly attentive to the child perspective, participation, and continuity. As a nurse, you have a significant role in this.

The work and working methods vary greatly, which means that there are many development opportunities depending on who you are as an applicant and what you bring with you.

We are looking for someone who

  • is curious about pediatric care and strives to grow and develop in your professional role
  • values good collaboration and has the ability to create good relationships
  • enjoys working in a varied daily routine and can shift to independent work as you become comfortable with the tasks.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Licensed nurse

Meritorious:

  • Experience working with children or pediatric care
  • Work experience within any of the department's diagnostic groups; nephrology (dialysis), hematology, gastroenterology, hepatology, oncology, or transplantation
  • Some years of experience as a nurse.

About the recruitment process

Selection and interviews may occur continuously during the application period.

In connection with your application, you need to attach your CV. Instead of a personal letter, we ask you to answer selection questions and briefly explain why you are suitable for the role. Answering the questions is a prerequisite for your application to be considered complete.
