JENSEN School Norrköping is a personal school with high adult presence where everyone knows each other, creating safety and a conducive learning environment. The school is located at Södra promenaden 60 and has over 300 students.

We are looking for someone who wants to develop in their professional role and contribute to our students' success. In your role as a counselor at JENSEN, you will have the opportunity to take overall responsibility for the school together with engaged colleagues and present managers. At the same time, you have great freedom to use your expertise to assist the educational activities and to harness and develop students' resources.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Conduct student conversations such as support, conflict, and crisis talks, as well as investigative discussions with students in groups and individually.
• Act as support to other staff members, for example during coaching time and participate in the safety team.
• Be responsible for the school's equal treatment plan.
• Actively contribute to the overall development of the school and take responsibility for ensuring that the organization meets its goals.

Qualifications

You should have relevant education for social work as a counselor, social work degree, or psychology degree, and experience working with youth is an advantage.

In the role of counselor at our school, we are looking for a colleague who has strong abilities to build relationships with students and colleagues. You should be outgoing and able to create and maintain your relationships. Your role requires you to collaborate well with both school management and teachers. You are attentive but also brave enough to express your views from your perspective as a counselor. You listen, communicate, and resolve conflicts in a constructive manner. You take great responsibility for your task and your work as a counselor. You structure your approach and drive your processes forward.

In the role of counselor, you should have well-founded and clear values and integrity. You are guided by ethics and values in critical situations in your work. The job requires good and wise judgment along with humility.

Employment Type

The position is a permanent employment of 70-100% starting by agreement. For this position, we apply a six-month probationary period.
