Vision is looking for a Strategic Advisor to the Union President
Vision is a modern and growing trade union in constant change, and we continue to increase our union strength. Vision's members lead, develop, and administer welfare and work in municipalities, regions, private companies, or the church. Our 218,000 members are spread across the country and within thousands of different professions, forming a valuable network together. We are a feminist organization, politically independent, and part of TCO.
Vision is increasing its union strength. To achieve our prioritized goals and make an impact on our key issues, we need to continue strengthening the management support – both strategically and operationally. Therefore, we are now looking for a strategic advisor with a focus on advocacy work, policy development, and support for the union president.
In this role, you will provide qualified support to the union president in preparation for appearances, meetings, and decision-making. You will work closely with our team, where another strategic advisor focused on communication is present, and where coordinators contribute with administrative and operational support. You will also collaborate daily with relevant parts of the organization to create a coherent thread from strategy to implementation. The assignment requires you to be comfortable switching between fast operational deliveries and more long-term strategic perspectives – often on the same day – and that you are both self-driven and strong in collaboration.
Main Responsibilities:
You will, among other things:
- Provide management-level advice and serve as a strategic and operational support to the union president in preparation for appearances, meetings, and important decisions.
- Prepare decision-making materials, presentations, speech/message support, and texts that are concise, sharp, and tailored to the target audience.
- Contribute to assessments and provide support in advocacy work, public opinion formation, and policy development – and translate this into concrete proposals tailored to the union president.
- Coordinate across functional and organizational boundaries to “bind together” expertise throughout the organization and ensure a clear line from strategy to implementation.
- Build and maintain trusting relationships internally and externally and be a driving force for outward-facing meetings and visibility.
- Be a clear link to and from environmental monitoring and drive the work to ensure context, timing, and relevant inputs.
We are looking for someone who:
You have documented experience in strategic advocacy work and have worked closely with management in a complex environment (for example, near the president, board, or management). You are used to preparing cases and producing materials that hold up for decision-making, debate, interviews, and meetings – and you can quickly familiarize yourself with issues, prioritize, and land on sound recommendations.
You need to be very strong in writing: you can write concisely, clearly, and tailored to the target audience – whether it concerns talking points, messages, materials, or texts for various channels. You have good analytical skills and stable judgment, especially regarding trade-offs in context and when multiple interests and perspectives need to be weighed against each other.
As a person, you are service-oriented, diplomatic, and confident in dialogue – even when it comes to sensitive issues. You understand the importance of anchoring and find it easy to create collaboration, while also being able to maintain direction and be proactive when needed. You are good at connecting people, perspectives, and content – and creating a clear whole around political positioning for our union president.
You have knowledge of the parties model and how it works (decision-making processes, collective bargaining, stakeholder logic, timing, and environmental monitoring). Experience from a trade union, non-profit sector, or other politically influenced organization is an advantage.
At Vision:
To thrive and succeed with us, you need to be familiar with and stand behind Vision's values: courage, trust, inclusion, and making each other better. This is an obvious part of how we collaborate, lead, and create results – both internally and in our interactions with the outside world.
We are located in newly renovated premises in central Stockholm, designed with a focus on a varied work environment, focus, and recovery. The office is our primary workplace, and there is an opportunity to work remotely when the business allows.
The position is a permanent full-time employment based in Stockholm. Welcome with your application and CV by February 15, 2026. Interviews may be conducted on an ongoing basis. You apply by clicking the apply button below.
