About the assignment

We are now looking for an experienced design manager for a comprehensive and socially important investment project related to the Slussen transfer point. The assignment is long-term and complex, with many technical interfaces and stakeholders, and requires a person who can take clear overall responsibility for the design work.

In this role, you will work closely with the project manager and be responsible for leading and managing design assignments within the given frameworks of time, cost, scope, and quality. The assignment takes place in an environment with high demands for coordination, structure, and technical quality.

Responsibilities

As a design manager, your tasks include:

• Leading and managing design and consulting contracts within your area of responsibility
• Preparing procurement documents, technical descriptions, construction documents, and as-built documents
• Ensuring that the right resources are acquired in consultation with the project manager
• Being responsible for requirement follow-up together with the requirement coordinator
• Planning, following up, and managing design schedules
• Being responsible for financial management and forecasting within the design assignments
• Leading design, financial, and coordination meetings
• Representing the project in technical matters towards internal and external stakeholders
• Exercising BAS-P responsibility
• Ensuring that technical guidelines are applied and documenting any deviations
• Coordinating design with adjacent projects, programs, and other stakeholders
• Quality controlling and reviewing deliveries from designers
• Identifying and defining management requirements and contributing to preparations for handover
• Participating in project-related meetings and reporting continuously to the project manager

Mandatory requirements

To be considered for the assignment, you must have:

• A university degree in a relevant field (architect, civil engineer, construction, or equivalent experience)
• At least 5 years of documented experience in the design and construction process in complex projects
• At least 3 years of experience as a design manager in projects where CAD/BIM/VDC has been used
• BAS-P/U training
• Documented project references from at least three assignments as a design manager or equivalent coordinating role

Desirable qualifications

It is advantageous if you also have:

• Experience from working within a regional public transport authority
• Experience of project handover to a management organization
• In-depth experience of BIM model design in complex projects
• Experience in review work, for example in Bluebeam
• Good knowledge of industry regulations such as AB, ABT, and PBL

Placement and working method

The assignment allows for both remote work and on-site work at an office in central Stockholm.
