Diabetes Nurse at the Medical and Geriatric Clinic

Region Västerbotten works to ensure that good health and sustainable development strengthen each other. We take responsibility for equitable welfare and for research and innovation to yield results.

Within the health and medical care administration, primary care, dental care, and hospital care are gathered in a common administration and organized under county and local healthcare areas. In the Local Healthcare Area of Skellefteå, the Emergency Department, Medical and Geriatric Clinic, Rehabilitation Center, Psychiatric Clinic, and Primary Care in Skellefteå and Norsjö municipalities are included. Together, these will work for good, close care.

At the Medical and Geriatric Clinic, you will become part of a clinic where the care places are distributed based on medical and geriatric orientations. The majority of admissions are acute and occur via the emergency department. The outpatient care consists of medicine, geriatrics, and dialysis clinics. The medical clinic also includes day care services and a physiological laboratory. The clinic also has a Research Unit, which is unique for a regional hospital.

One of the day care services at the medical clinic is the diabetes clinic. Here, several different professional categories work together, including three diabetes nurses, where knowledge and commitment create the conditions for proper treatment, care, and a better life for the region's residents. Do you want varied work tasks, to meet challenges, and have the opportunity to grow in your professional role? Then you should apply for this job!

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a diabetes nurse with us, you contribute knowledge and commitment that makes people feel secure.

You work independently, mainly following up on patients with type 1 diabetes. Together with other professional categories, you are part of a team where diabetes nurses are one of several important links in creating a holistic view of each patient's individual needs. You will provide information, support, and conduct treatment follow-ups. Many of our patients today use technical solutions to monitor blood sugar levels and insulin dosing, so part of the work involves teaching patients new technology.

Contributing to the development of the operation is a natural part of the work. You are important for our patients and also for us and our future.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with further education in specific nursing focused on diabetes.

As a person, you are flexible and have good collaboration skills. We would like you to have an interest in technology, as you are expected to help patients with technical solutions.
