Ambulance Nurse at Region Västerbotten

The ambulance service assesses and treats patients at home, at the scene of an accident, and during transport to the hospital, and is also responsible for transports where care during transport is necessary. Ambulance Service Västerbotten performs around 33,000 missions in the county. In Åsele, we have our emergency vehicle that works with acute care in collaboration with Åsele municipality.

All our new colleagues within Ambulance Service Västerbotten undergo our introductory training so you gain good insight, understanding, and basic security in your role within ambulance care. Areas you will be part of in the introductory training include, for example, From Alarm to Handover, Work Environment, Systematic Care, Treatment Guidelines, Triage, CPR, Rakel Communication, Traffic and Vehicles, Medical Leader and Medical Responsibility, Weather and Terrain, Pregnancy and Delivery.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a nurse with us, you contribute knowledge and engagement that makes people feel safe.

The nurse within the ambulance service meets patients of all ages who have suffered from acute illness, injury, or who need care during transport. You assess and treat patients at home, at the scene of an accident, and during transport to a healthcare facility. The job is about making a difference for others and showing humility while maintaining calm in demanding situations. In the ambulance, you work in teams, and our nurses have medical responsibility. You and your colleague also have the ultimate responsibility to check at the beginning of each shift and throughout the shift that the ambulance has the correct equipment so you can perform your duties in a patient-safe manner.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse. It is advantageous if you are specialized in ambulance care or have another specialization that the employer deems valuable for the operation. Experience from ambulance care, emergency care, or primary care is also advantageous.

You have a B driver's license and good driving experience. You master Swedish in both speech and writing. Work within ambulance care can be physically demanding, and therefore we require physical endurance. As part of the recruitment process, you will undergo a fitness test and driving test.
