The Workplace

Mölltorpskolan is beautifully located by the lakes Kopparsjön and Kyrksjön, with the forest right at your doorstep. Here, there is a primary school for grades F-6 and an adapted primary school for grades 1-6, as well as an after-school program. Approximately 120 students attend the school.

Job Responsibilities

As a special educator, you work directly with students who need support and stimulation. You will plan, implement, and follow up on individually adapted teaching, both individually and in smaller groups and whole classes. You will conduct assessments, as well as follow up and document progress. You will be driving the school's work with language, reading, writing, and mathematics development and contribute to ensuring that routines are followed and developed. You will help strengthen a language-developing approach throughout the school, and you will provide guidance and support to teachers and other staff regarding adaptations and language and mathematics-developing teaching.

As a special educator, you will be part of the school's student health team, and collaborating with various professionals is an important part of your work. Together, you contribute to ensuring that every student has the opportunity and motivation to develop according to their circumstances.

Visual support and other forms of alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) are a natural part of the students' entire school day and are used by all staff, both in school and in the after-school program.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a licensed teacher and has a degree as a special educator with a focus on language, writing, and reading development or mathematics development. It is important that you have good language skills in Swedish. We also prefer that you have experience working as a special educator in primary school. The work is independent and requires curiosity and interest, as well as the ability to want to develop the educational activities. You have an interest in and experience working with individuals with various disabilities, you see differences as an asset, and you are curious about finding solutions for the difficulties students may encounter during the school day.

You have a good understanding of how students absorb knowledge based on their different conditions and have the ability to adapt teaching to the various needs of students. You are a good leader and are perceived by students as a stable person who is secure in yourself. You have a strong interest in development work. You work goal- and results-oriented and feel confident in planning and documentation. You are well-versed in current research in your field and are active in developing the school's student health work.

Collaboration is a prerequisite and a given for you, and we place great importance on you sharing our common idea of collective responsibility for the entire Mölltorpskolan.
