We are looking for a highly experienced construction manager in electrical engineering with a focus on catenary and low voltage for a long-term and qualified assignment within Swedish railway infrastructure. The role is suitable for you who are comfortable in a client-facing function and who want to work both strategically and operationally in complex project environments.

The assignment involves stepping in as a key person in the project organization and ensuring that electrical contracts are executed according to agreements, technical requirements, and applicable regulations.

Assignment duration:

Start according to agreement, with an initial assignment period until March 2028 and the possibility of extension up to a total of approximately 7 years.

About the role

As a construction manager for electrical engineering, you work closely with project management and other construction managers and are responsible for monitoring and coordinating the contractors' work within catenary and low voltage. The assignment includes both fieldwork and office work. Periodically, evening, night, and weekend work may occur.

You have an active role in production and are expected to take responsibility for both technical and administrative parts of the assignment.

Examples of tasks:

  • Follow up that contractor work is performed according to contracts, documents, and requirements
  • Manage and coordinate production technical solutions on site
  • Daily contact and collaboration with contractors
  • Active monitoring of schedules, quality, and technical execution
  • Review of control plans, work preparations, and self-checks
  • Participation in inspections, connections, tests, and commissioning
  • Participate in and, if necessary, lead production meetings
  • Assist in handling changes and additional work
  • Follow up on final documentation and management data

Workplace and practical conditions

  • Stationing location: Sundsvall
  • High physical presence at the project office
  • Assignment scope: approximately 80–95% of full-time
  • Work takes place both in the field and in the office
  • Computer and workplace provided
  • You need to provide a suitable car yourself

Mandatory requirements

To be considered for the role, all of the requirements below must be met and verifiable through CV and references.

  • Valid training as a Safety and Security Leader
  • At least 3 years of experience as a construction manager, BPU, or work leader within catenary and low voltage for railway contracts
  • The experience must have been acquired within the last 10 years
  • Participated in at least one railway project that included:
  • Renovation of existing marshalling yard
  • Replacement of catenary bridges and hangers
  • Phased implementation
  • At least two commissioning or connections
  • At least one relevant reference assignment from railway projects with:
  • Catenary and low voltage work
  • Project budget over 10 million SEK
  • Good knowledge of laws, regulations, and standards within electrical engineering and railways
  • Practical experience of AMA EL / MER Facility 17 or later
  • Practical experience of AB 04
  • Practical experience of working in the Swedish Transport Administration's MSS system
  • Very good Swedish in speech and writing
  • Driving license B

Desirable qualifications (strongly meritorious)

  • Experience working as a client representative in complex land and BEST contracts
  • Experience leading production meetings between client and contractor
  • Knowledge in design within catenary and low voltage
  • Experience handling connection diagrams and wire calculations in the Swedish Transport Administration's tools
  • Experience in phased commissioning of AT systems
  • Experience in independent and active monitoring of contractors' work
  • Experience as a construction manager/BPU in remote control
