The Care Administration operates under the principle that all people we meet have the same value and are unique. Within the administration, there are IFO, LSS operations, social psychiatry, health and medical care, home care, and special accommodations. About 800 employees work around the clock for our target groups.

As a care assistant in Skogsbo home care, your overall goal is to provide the highest quality care to our clients in their own homes. Your work is based on the services granted under the Social Services Act and aims to meet each individual's needs for care, support, and assistance in daily life.

Your main tasks include helping clients with personal care, which may include assistance with dressing, hygiene, and meals. You also assist with social activities such as walks or other types of social interaction. The work also includes medical care delegated by a nurse, where you perform tasks such as medication management and other medical interventions.

You will use a mobile phone as a tool to manage work schedules, documentation, and approval of services. The job also involves handling alarms, reporting deviations, and ensuring that all services are documented correctly according to applicable guidelines.

The work involves traveling to various clients' homes, either by walking, cycling, or driving the home care vehicles. Since services are performed in the individual's own home, there may be pets present, and the work can be physically demanding, involving heavier lifting, transfers, and movement.

The work includes day, evening, and weekend shifts.

In the work within the care sector in Avesta municipality, joint planning is an important part of the organization. You will be employed in the Care Administration with placement in Skogsbo home care, but joint planning means that you may sometimes work in other units within the administration. Skogsbo home care is primarily planned together with Krylbo and Horndal home care.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a completed and approved care assistant education. Experience in care-related work is an advantage. If you have previous experience working with dementia, mental health issues, or severely ill individuals in their own homes, it is considered a plus. You have an interest in undergoing training in medication delegation, and previous experience in medication delegation is an advantage.

You have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, which allows you to communicate and understand information clearly and effectively. You are a proficient user of computers and mobile devices and see this as a natural part of your work. It is also advantageous if you have knowledge in e-health and welfare technology.

The job requires physical ability to handle uncomfortable working positions, transfers, and a lot of movement, such as walking up stairs, getting in and out of cars multiple times per shift, as well as cycling or walking for extended periods. You should also be able to perform lifts in connection with, for example, transfers or shopping.

You need to be comfortable working in environments where there may be pets, strong odors, and smoking, as these are things you may encounter in the job.

To perform the job, you must have a B driver's license and be comfortable driving the municipality's cars for work purposes. You also need to be able to cycle with the municipality's loan bikes when necessary.
