The Gastroenterology Department is part of the Medical Clinic in Mora. In connection with a reorganization, the department has received an expanded mandate from being an endoscopy service to becoming a gastroenterology department with both endoscopy, physician consultations, day care, and infusion services. We are also planning for an expanded nurse-led clinic.

Nursing Assistant Gastroenterology Department Mora Responsibilities

At the Gastroenterology Department in Mora, a team with broad expertise works in new, fresh facilities.

The primary activity is endoscopy, and the most common examinations performed are gastro-, colon-, and sigmoidoscopies. We perform both planned and urgent examinations. In recent years, we have also conducted screenings for colon cancer. As a nursing assistant, you participate in planning the day's examinations, assist the endoscopist, and are responsible for handling sample materials.

We also have a physician's office and a day care unit. Patients come to the day care unit for liver biopsies, medication treatment, or abdominal tapping, and as a nursing assistant, you participate in planning and care. You also have some administrative tasks such as booking from the waiting list. The work includes some telephone advice in the TeleQ system and contact with patients via 1177.

Requirements:

We are looking for someone who is a trained nursing assistant who has completed the Health and Care program or the vocational package Health and Care in adult education.

Meritorious:

You are welcome to have a few years of experience as a nursing assistant, but we also welcome those who are relatively newly trained.

Personal qualities:

You are interested in working in a team with doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, and secretaries. You need to be flexible, solution-focused, and able to act in acute situations. We place great emphasis on engagement and good treatment, both towards patients and colleagues.

Information about the profession title

As of July 1, 2023, nursing assistant is a protected professional title (https://legitimation.socialstyrelsen.se/underskoterska-blir-en-skyddad-yrkestitel/). This means that you need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title nursing assistant within health and care.

You can apply for the certificate from July 1, 2023. If you do not have a certificate, you can continue to work in health and care, but with a different title than nursing assistant. For those who are offered a job with us in Region Dalarna after July 1, this means that the title in your employment contract will be Care Assistant until you can present your certificate. If you had a permanent position with the title nursing assistant when the new regulations came into effect on July 1, 2023, you can continue to use the nursing assistant title for 10 years. You can retain the title even if you change workplaces/employers after July 1. After that, you will need a certificate of protected professional title to use the title nursing assistant.
