Job Description

Patient-Centered Laboratory Medicine (PNL) is one of the specialties within the laboratory medicine operations in Region Östergötland. We run a well-developed operation where the work environment is characterized by responsibility, trust, and participation. We are located at most of Östergötland's healthcare centers, as well as at the sampling units at the University Hospital and Vrinnevisjukhuset. Today, about 100 employees work within PNL, most of whom are biomedical analysts or medical biologists; we also have medical technical assistants, nursing assistants, and laboratory instructors in our team.

PNL has a central role in the care chain, and we are the important first link in the laboratory operations. We take samples for the entire healthcare system and perform analyses in hematology, coagulation, and chemistry. The work in the laboratory is done in close collaboration with other professionals at the healthcare center, but the organizational affiliation is Patient-Centered Laboratory Medicine, which also stands for your competence development and the laboratory's quality assurance and instrumentation.

Work Group

Our work groups are small, and we place great importance on personal suitability. You will work both independently and in teams with colleagues at the sampling unit.

Basic requirements for employment as a nursing assistant:

  • Approved secondary education of at least 2250 points, the Health and Care Program or equivalent

  • Grading criteria: At least grade E in all courses (passed).
  • It is desirable to have a diploma from certified training via the Health and Care College, applicable to both youth and adult education.

Experience in sampling is an advantage.

You have very good knowledge of the Swedish language both in speech and writing.

As a person, you are service-oriented, flexible, and enjoy meeting and helping people. We expect you to be able to perform independent work as well as work in a group and have good collaboration skills.

We work closely together and need to have good communication to successfully solve the tasks we encounter in our daily work. Thus, the position suits you who thrive in collaboration and are attentive and communicative with both colleagues, patients, relatives, and customers.
