The IT Unit

The unit consists of about 50 colleagues who are divided into a couple of operations teams, a support team, a couple of development teams, and several resource consultants.

The IT unit of the Swedish Forest Agency – which is mainly located at the headquarters in Jönköping – serves not only the headquarters but also about 80 local offices across the country, with everything from development, management, operations, and support.

Our development teams work agilely in close collaboration with the business and also in close cooperation with operations and support.

About the role

You will be part of a development team where we develop IT support based on the best value for the customer/business.

The Swedish Forest Agency works in the Microsoft and ESRI environment where we develop and manage custom-built system support for both internal and external users and applications.

Requirements

We need reinforcement for our development team that develops a common infrastructure for geodata, which is a consolidated platform for the Swedish Forest Agency's national geodata with both internal and external use. The team is also responsible for functions and integrations that are reused in many IT supports as well as for the platform with financial and HR information.

We are looking for someone with an academic education with an IT focus or similar experience.

You are a backend developer with at least 2-3 years of practical experience in system development in C# with technologies such as WebApi with EntityFramework, but you can also write and troubleshoot SQL queries in MS SQL Server.

You have several years of experience as a developer in T-SQL, C#/.NET.

You have a holistic view and are used to working in a structured way and realizing solutions with a maintainable architecture.

You are proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written.

Meritorious

Experience in BI development is meritorious.

Experience in geographic data and GIS development is also a plus.
