Job Responsibilities

At Laboratoriemedicin, you are welcomed into a broad operation. Your tasks may lie within one or more of our areas of activity such as blood sampling, various functional load tests, assistance in departments, handling of urine/stool samples, pediatric sampling, laundry/dish handling.

As a nursing assistant with us, your tasks are important, and to thrive, you need to be flexible and take great personal responsibility for your execution. Your placement determines whether you have direct contact with patients or clients, but we always value the ability to provide good service and collaboration. Your main placement will be in Västerås, but since we collaborate within Laboratoriemedicin, work at other locations may occur.

About the Workplace

At Laboratoriemedicin, you are welcomed into an operation that encompasses the specialties of clinical chemistry, clinical microbiology, clinical pathology, and transfusion medicine. We are about 200 employees and are located at the four hospitals in Västmanland.

With patients and our clients in focus, we deliver services to healthcare in the form of sampling and test results, blood components, functional examinations, and care of the deceased. Laboratoriemedicin works for good and safe care at the right time. Among us work professionals such as biomedical analysts, doctors, cytodiagnosticians, nurses, nursing assistants, molecular biologists, chemists, and laboratory engineers.

Laboratoriemedicin is accredited according to the ISO 15189 standard.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a trained nursing assistant with a protected professional title. You have previous experience in sampling from both children and adults, which is a requirement for the position. You also have good knowledge of the Cosmic journal system, good computer skills, and good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form. It is an advantage if you have experience in drop-in operations, knowledge of the LIS system, and a B driver's license.

To thrive and succeed in the role, you are structured and quality-conscious, with the ability to plan and prioritize your work even in periods of high tempo. Furthermore, you collaborate well with others and have a good sense of service. The work can be physically demanding, which means that good physical condition is a prerequisite.

Employment Conditions

We offer a permanent position, full-time, as well as a full-time temporary position until December. Daytime, Monday to Friday. Start as soon as possible or as agreed.

Information on Protected Professional Title

As of July 1, 2023, nursing assistant is a protected professional title. This means that you need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title nursing assistant within healthcare and social services.
