Family Therapist for Open Care for Children and Youth

Are you passionate about the well-being of children and youth and want to make a difference in their lives? Then we would love for you to read on!

As our operations grow and develop, we are now looking for more dedicated colleagues for Open Care for Children and Youth – perhaps you are the next addition to our team! The workgroup currently consists of 20 family therapists and a unit manager and is organized into three specialized teams: the children's team, the youth team, and the FFT team. We are now strengthening our team further to meet an increased need and continue to offer high-quality support to children, youth, and their families.

As a family therapist, you generally work with one area at a time, but over time you may come to work in all areas, which provides opportunities for variation, development, and broad competence.

With us, you will be part of an experienced and committed workgroup that values collaboration, systemic thinking, and development. You will receive continuous supervision, time for reflection, and the opportunity to plan and structure your work. In addition, we offer professional development and support for you to grow in your professional role.

Job Responsibilities

The role of a family therapist involves providing assessed open care interventions aimed at children and youth (0-20 years) and their families. The work can take place in the family's home environment, at a neutral location, or in our facilities, and the focus is on offering support and treatment interventions from a systemic perspective. Starting in April 2026, we will no longer only work with assessed interventions but will also offer interventions without assessment. In our work, we focus on the needs of the children and youth. Together with the family, we explore strengths and difficulties with the aim of finding ways to influence the family situation. Our fundamental view is that the family is a system where everyone affects each other, which means that treatment work often involves the whole family. Participation and collaboration create conditions for lasting change. The work consists of therapeutic conversations, practical guidance, and discussions with the whole family, parts of the family, or sometimes with the family's wider network. The focus is on relationships, communication, and structure, with the goal of reinforcing the positive, finding solutions, and strengthening relationships within the family. The unit continuously works on development initiatives to ensure that all children and youth have equal opportunities for good living conditions. As a family therapist, you will have a varied and developing role, with an emphasis on family therapy in the form of conversations with children, youth, and their parents.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has a strong interest and commitment to the development of children and youth. To succeed in this role, you must:

  • Be a qualified social worker or have a degree in behavioral science
  • Have professional experience in similar work
  • Have professional experience in treatment work
  • Have a valid driver's license (B)

It is an advantage if you have knowledge in one or more of the following areas:

  • System theory
  • BBIC
  • Signs of Safety

As a person, you are structured, relationship-building, secure, and analytical. Does this role sound like something for you? Then you are warmly welcome to submit your application; we look forward to receiving it!
