A job close to life and death

With us, you create trust and confidence with our clients and are the guide in a time that for many is filled with grief and uncertainty. Working with funerals is varied, eventful, and requires a good understanding of people's wishes. Some of the tasks as a customer advisor, ceremony host, and transporter include:

• Providing support and practical guidance to relatives throughout the entire funeral process, from the first meeting to subsequent follow-ups
• Advising on the planning and execution of the funeral ceremony, including the choice of ceremony type, coffins, urns, and other details
• Preparing cost estimates, managing invoicing and payments
• Coordinating and maintaining contact with external suppliers such as florists, parishes, religious communities, and authorities
• Acting as a representative in churches, chapels, and other gathering places in connection with ceremonies, which involves overall responsibility for ensuring the ceremony meets the client's order satisfactorily
• Handling the deceased during personal farewells and preparation for the ceremony
• Performing pickups of the deceased in private homes and residences
• Vehicle maintenance – our vehicles should be as well cared for as our service

We are looking for a new colleague to join us at Öströms Funeral Home in Gällivare, with potential work in Kiruna as well. The position is a permanent part-time role, 75%. Immediate start or as agreed, and we apply a 6-month probationary period.

What you bring with you

• You have a driver's license and access to your own car
• You have good physical condition as several heavy lifts occur in the work
• You are structured and have a very good ability to plan and organize your work even when the pace varies
• Experience of working with a customer focus
• Good administrative skills and familiarity with various business systems is an advantage
• Willingness to work outside office hours where evening and weekend work may occur
• It is an advantage if you speak multiple languages or have experience in our or related fields
