Job Responsibilities

We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher for a research project in conversational social robotics.

The project aims to develop computational models for spoken interaction with applications in human-robot interaction. Particular focus is on the use of multimodal large language models (audio, text, and image) that can integrate both the linguistic content of the conversation and the situational context in which the interaction takes place. A central research challenge is to model and manage conversations involving multiple participants.

Requirements

• PhD degree or foreign degree deemed equivalent to a PhD. This eligibility requirement must be fulfilled by the time the employment decision is made.
• The work requires good knowledge of programming, machine learning, and statistical analysis.
• To present research in articles and at conferences, good proficiency in English (both written and spoken) is also required.
• We also expect applicants to have a solid interest in spoken linguistic interaction, and that the doctoral thesis is in a related field.

Meritorious

• At the time of application, no more than three years since obtaining the PhD or a foreign degree deemed equivalent.
• We would like you to have experience in formulating research ideas independently from your supervisor and ensuring their implementation. At the same time, you should also have experience conducting research in collaboration with others.
• You should also be aware of diversity and equality issues.
