About the Perioperative Center

POC is part of the Surgical and Urology Operations area. Here we take care of patients undergoing scheduled surgeries in surgery, urology, and orthopedics. Your first meeting with the patient before surgery will set the tone for the rest of their experience during the upcoming care period. The time for the meeting with the patient is sometimes short and relies on us being well prepared, delivering clear information, and making the patient feel safe.

The reception is staffed by nurses and nursing assistants with extensive experience, primarily in surgery and urology.

We would like to broaden our team with someone who has orthopedic experience to meet the growing needs in the field. Job Description

As a nurse with us, you will be responsible for pre- and post-operative care. You will work closely with your colleagues in the team to create the safest and most secure care experience possible. Here you will meet both inpatient and day surgery patients and follow them from the first step into the reception to their discharge.

You will have close collaboration with the operating room, anesthesia, radiology, and inpatient departments – a broad and varied role that provides a unique insight into the entire care chain.

Your tasks include patient registration, sample collection, monitoring, medication management, pain relief, wound care, and more. We place great importance on ensuring that the patient feels safe, involved, and cared for. Together in the team, we develop working methods that make the patient's journey from registration to discharge both safer and more efficient.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are:

• A licensed nurse with at least 3 years of experience in pre- and post-operative care in orthopedics
• Experience in surgery and urology is an advantage
• Interested in flow optimization, improvement work, and development
• Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written

About the Operations

The Surgical and Urology Operations area conducts both acute and elective surgery and urology as well as operations in outpatient and inpatient care around the clock. We treat and care for patients primarily from Stockholm County, but also from outside the county and foreign patients with surgical or urological diseases. Patients are taken care of in several different specialist clinics, two operating rooms, and four wards with different profile areas; colorectal surgery, upper gastrointestinal surgery, obesity surgery, and liver tumors as well as urology. About 460 employees work here.
