Syréngården

On Gotland, there are several special accommodations distributed over six locations.

Our mission is to assist the elderly around the clock with various services to provide the conditions for a meaningful and dignified life. With the user at the center, we work with individual implementation plans, where the work is planned and executed based on our values: trust, care, and participation.

Syréngården is a dementia care home located centrally in Roma, about 20 kilometers from Visby. The facility has 19 places spread over two floors. We have a large well-established garden with walking paths, a nice pavilion, and close to forest areas.

Syréngården is certified in the Silviahemmet care philosophy, which shapes our working methods. Here, assistant nurses, resident assistants, nurses, unit managers, and rehabilitation staff work closely together.

Your Responsibilities

As an assistant nurse/resident assistant at Syréngården, you will:

• Work person-centered together with your colleagues, focusing on the individual's needs and wishes.
• Perform standard care tasks based on the residents' needs.
• Provide personal care.
• Manage medication and delegated health care tasks.
• Handle household duties.
• Plan and implement activities based on individual wishes and needs.
• Act as a contact person, which means being responsible for establishing and following up on implementation plans as well as contact and collaboration with relatives.

The work is scheduled according to a basic schedule with shifts during the day, evening, and every other weekend.

Who Are You?

To apply for the position of assistant nurse, you must have a recognized assistant nurse education. To be employed as an assistant nurse, you must meet the requirements to use the protected professional title according to current regulations.

For the role of resident assistant, it is desirable that you have a complete high school education. It is an advantage if you have training focused on care and nursing, for example, as a nursing assistant.

Previous experience in care and/or elderly care is an advantage. Since the unit deals with cognitive/medical disabilities, BPSD (Behavioral and Psychological Symptoms in Dementia) and palliative care, experience in these areas is also advantageous.

As a person, you are confident in both yourself and your professional role. You work in a structured manner, collaborate easily, and enjoy being part of a team. You are flexible and see daily challenges as opportunities for learning and development. To thrive in the role, you have a good ability to adapt your approach and attitude based on different individuals and situations. You are curious, open to new working methods, and actively contribute to the development of the organization – both independently and together with colleagues.

It is important that you are confident in the Swedish language in both speech and writing, as all communication and documentation is conducted in Swedish.

About the Social Administration

As part of Region Gotland, we at the social administration work with social interventions such as counseling, support, and treatment. Our areas of operation are social services, home health care, elderly care, and care for people with disabilities throughout Gotland.
