About us
At the Children's Heart Center, we care for children from all over the country in connection with heart surgery, cardiac catheterization, heart transplantation, and other investigations and treatments for children with heart disease.
The Children's Heart Center at Queen Silvia's Children's Hospital is one of Sweden's two centers with the assignment of National Highly Specialized Care (NHV) in pediatric cardiac surgery, and we also perform highly specialized pediatric cardiology. We work with Patient-Centered Care where clear teamwork between different professions gives us the conditions to create value for the patient. Pharmacists, nursing assistants, service hosts, and administrative staff relieve other healthcare personnel of tasks that are not patient-related, which provides ample opportunity for you to provide professional care.
We now need to strengthen the Children's Heart Center with a nurse, and we are looking for someone who wants to be involved in the continued development of the operation.
What do we offer?
We believe in a good start and have a comprehensive introduction package. This includes an individually tailored introduction period of six weeks and continuous guidance from both mentors and experienced colleagues. We offer professional development in the form of training, lectures, and reflection sessions.
The management of the department consists of a department head, two unit managers, and two section leaders, all with backgrounds in the operation. We offer you an exciting workplace with good camaraderie and a lot of joy at work!
Job Responsibilities
As a nurse with us, you will be responsible for the care of children and adolescents who are being treated for congenital or acquired heart disease. You will work in a team with other nurses, nursing assistants, doctors, and other healthcare professionals, offering you a varied and stimulating job with a lot of joy at work.
About you
We are looking for a licensed nurse who has demonstrated the ability to quickly absorb new knowledge and adapt to new working methods. Interest, willingness, and ability to help others, as well as a desire to contribute to the development of our operation, are important qualities. References from a supervisor that support this are required.
When making hiring decisions, we naturally consider personal suitability, as the operation's assignment in National Highly Specialized Care requires the competence to handle complex issues.

If you are a newly graduated nurse, you will be part of the Clinical Foundation Year, which is our introduction program. The Clinical Foundation Year is mandatory and lasts for the first year of your employment with us. It includes lectures, nursing supervision, and practical training of your profession at the Simulation Center. In addition, it also includes service on at least two different departments to broaden your competence.
In the event of recruitment of a nurse with foreign qualifications/specialist certificates, the position will be preceded by a process to meet the requirements for Swedish qualifications/specialist certificates.
