About the Position

We are now looking for an IT Technician for the Digital Workplace department.

The department handles everything from IT orders, hardware validation, lifecycle management, installation, deployment/return, troubleshooting, to managing various scripts and batch jobs for client management as well as application packaging. The department is also responsible for Region Halland's printers, mobile devices, and conference equipment along with related services. The work also includes documentation and 2nd and 3rd line support regarding the digital workplace in collaboration with ITD's other IT departments, as well as participating as a resource in various IT projects and development assignments. You will work both independently and in a team, and assignments may extend across the entire Region Halland geographically.

About Us

In the department, we work with development and innovation related to the digital workplace as well as user-oriented IT support, IT logistics, and ordering of components related to the digital workplace, such as computers with accessories, printers, mobile devices, and conference technology.

Our mission is to be responsible for and provide the organization with a modern and functional workplace in these areas. The department manages over 9000 computers and 3500 printers within Region Halland, consisting of 23 employees located either in Varberg or Halmstad. Our mission extends across the entire region. Central administration and support are therefore necessary, and the importance of having functioning processes and tools to manage this is significant.

All packaging and distribution of applications are handled centrally within the department via deployment tools, but also work on-site with customers, deployment/exchange of computers with accessories, mobile devices, conference equipment, and printers is managed by employees within our department.

Qualifications

Applicants should have industry-specific courses in IT. We also expect you to have knowledge in:

  • Microsoft Windows 10 and later
  • Microsoft Office
  • Active Directory
  • PC Hardware
  • Basic troubleshooting of computers and printers in a network

Furthermore, we see that you have basic technical competence and understanding of computer components with operating systems based on PC and Microsoft Windows, as well as printers and print management. You need to be accustomed to independently seeking solutions to IT-related problems, advanced troubleshooting of operating systems and their connections to applications and IT systems. Experience in central administration and deployment of computers in larger IT environments, PowerShell, and a good understanding of VMware and thin clients are advantageous.

You are technically interested and have a desire to work with technology, development, and support regarding the digital workplace. To succeed and thrive in the role, you need to be engaged, meticulous, solution-oriented, curious, and proactive without problems following guidelines and established processes. Your social skills are good as you collaborate with and are part of various technical teams in your daily work, and you maintain continuous dialogue with our suppliers and partners in the organization. Since parts of the assignment involve goods and IT logistics, it is important to keep order and tidiness around our shared workplace. We work with continuous improvement and would like the ability to drive and improve workflows to come naturally to you. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

You have good knowledge of Swedish and English in both spoken and written form. A B driver's license is required for the position.
