Data and BI Specialist

Your Responsibilities

As a specialist in data and BI, you will work independently and operationally with the municipality's data warehouse, integration platform, and BI solutions. You will ensure that data flows correctly from source systems to the data warehouse and further to reporting, with good quality, stability, and predictability. The focus is on production, management, and ongoing development of existing solutions within given technical frameworks. The role is central to ensuring that the organization has access to reliable data for monitoring, analysis, and decision-making.

In your daily work, you will, among other things:

• Manage and further develop existing solutions within data warehousing, integrations, and BI.
• Ensure stable operations and handle deviations in data flows and reports.
• Work with tables, views, and data models in the data warehouse and perform data quality checks.
• Implement, monitor, and adjust ETL/ELT flows in the integration platform.
• Develop and manage reports and dashboards in Power BI.

You will work closely with the organization and with colleagues in IT services, especially within data, integration, and analysis. Through active dialogue with the organization, you will create an understanding of needs and how these can be translated into effective data and BI solutions. The role also involves actively contributing to improved working methods and increased quality in the joint delivery.

Your Qualifications

Requirements:

• At least two years of relevant work experience in data, BI, data warehousing, and/or integration, where you have worked independently with similar tasks in production and have experience in managing existing data and BI solutions over time.
• Good practical skills in SQL.
• Documented experience with data warehousing, ETL/ELT flows, and integrations.
• Good experience with Power BI or equivalent BI tools.
• Understanding of data modeling, data quality, and the relationships between source systems, data warehouses, and reporting.

Experience with SQL Server, TEIS, or equivalent integration platforms is a merit, as well as experience with cloud-based data services, such as those within Azure. Relevant post-secondary education in data, IT, systems science, or BI is considered an asset, as well as experience from the public sector or larger organizations.
