Welcome to Sollefteå – here we make a difference, together.

About the position

Within the municipality's Technical & Service Department, about 50 employees work in several operational areas; IT, telecom, property, vehicles, office management, system administration, and digitalization and development. The Technical & Service Department's area of work covers the entire municipality, and we are responsible for the municipality's internal service functions within each unit's operational area.

We are now looking for a service-oriented and solution-focused technician to join our team at IT service. Are you the one we are looking for?

Welcome to submit your application today!

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for someone who thrives in a role with a lot of customer contact and has experience in customer service, service desk, or user support. You are used to working on a case-by-case basis, find it easy to communicate, and enjoy guiding and helping users in a pedagogical and service-oriented manner.

You will be an important contact point for the municipality's users and part of the IT support, where you, together with an engaged team with good cohesion, ensure that users receive quick, professional, and friendly help in their daily lives.

In the role, you will:

  • Be the first contact for users and receive, register, prioritize, and follow up on support cases.
  • Provide support and guidance on hardware and software, primarily in a Windows environment.
  • Assist users via phone, email, remote access, and on-site when needed.
  • Work according to established routines and ensure clear documentation and feedback to users.
  • If necessary, escalate cases to colleagues or specialist functions and follow the case all the way to resolution.

The work is mainly conducted via phone and email but may also involve traveling to assist users on-site. Days vary between simpler, recurring cases and more complex support issues where service mindset and problem-solving are central.

The role can sometimes be fast-paced and requires you to be structured, attentive, and genuinely interested in providing good service and creating a positive user experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

We prefer that you have an IT-related education, such as from IT high school or YH/KY, but it is not a requirement. Experience in customer service, IT support, or service desk is equally valuable. The most important thing is that you are solution-oriented, have a good technical understanding, and want to develop within support and service.

You should have basic knowledge of Windows 11, Office 365. Understanding of Active Directory and basic knowledge of networks (TCP/IP) is an advantage. It's important to communicate clearly and professionally in both Swedish and English.

It is an advantage if you have experience working in 1st or 2nd line support, are used to working in larger organizations, and have used case management systems.

In our municipality, several positions are classified in security class, so a security review may occur with an interview and background check. This type of position requires Swedish citizenship.

A B driver's license (manual) is a requirement as the job may involve traveling within the municipality to provide on-site support.

Interviews may occur continuously before the application period ends.

OTHER

In Sollefteå Municipality, several positions are classified in security class according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585). For those positions, a security review is included in the hiring process.
