About the Organization
Sahlgrenska University Hospital has one of the largest maternity clinics in the Nordic countries, located at Östra Hospital. Here, we provide care during pregnancy, childbirth, and the immediate postpartum period. In addition to the maternity and postpartum unit, there is also an outpatient unit where specialist maternity care, routine and specialist ultrasounds, postpartum clinics for parents and their newborns, as well as an emergency department for pregnant women and new mothers are conducted.

We offer a stable and well-functioning operation with a focus on the beginning of life. Within our administrative unit, approximately 20 employees work in roles such as medical secretaries, system administrators, and administrators. The unit is characterized by high satisfaction, good collaboration skills, and strong professional commitment.
We conduct structured work environment and development efforts with regular workplace meetings and routine meetings. Our well-being group is responsible for planning community-promoting activities that contribute to a positive and sustainable work environment. Job Responsibilities
With us, you will be offered a wide variety of tasks as we support healthcare staff in both outpatient, emergency, and inpatient care. You will function as a resource throughout our unit, and your working hours are Monday to Friday during the day.
Together with your colleagues, you will have a central role in the daily administrative work. Your main tasks will include diagnosis setting, medical record documentation, appointment scheduling, and handling referrals, mail, and cases that come in via 1177. You will also meet and register patients at our emergency department and postpartum offices, making you an important part of the patient's first contact with our organization. Within the administrative unit, we work in several systems, and it is essential for both your own sake and the organization’s that you have a genuine interest in learning these. It is also part of our mission to supervise students.
Our unit is constantly participating in development work to improve and streamline our operations so that we can offer our patients the best possible care experience. Individual assignments based on interest and aptitude may also become relevant.
About You
We are looking for someone with a degree in healthcare documentation. You demonstrate a positive attitude and a professional demeanor. You are engaged, take initiative, and have a strong desire to develop and acquire new knowledge. You have the ability to work independently as well as closely with colleagues. As the job involves functioning as a resource, you need to be flexible. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
