Addiction Center Stockholm

Addiction Center Stockholm is Sweden's largest addiction clinic. We offer support and assistance to individuals with problems related to alcohol, drugs, medications, or gambling. Our operations include acute and 24-hour care, local outpatient care, and highly specialized treatment. We also conduct university healthcare, research, and education.

The Workplace

Ward 8 receives addiction patients with advanced psychiatric and/or somatic care needs. Our facilities are designed to provide a safer, more secure, and efficient care and work environment, and we have the same staffing every day, around the clock. Women are cared for separately to enhance their safety.

The Work

The work on the ward is very varied, including:

  • The focus is on managing acutely arising complications or difficult situations that the early stages of sobriety and withdrawal treatment may cause.
  • Responsible for assessment, care, documentation, and medication management.
  • Working together in a team with other nurses and caregivers.

Personal Qualities and Qualifications

We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a team and has the ability to handle people in difficult situations. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability and the ability to work in a group. To thrive with us, you should have an interest in our patient group and enjoy working with both psychiatric and somatic care. We require you to be a licensed nurse. Experience in addiction and/or psychiatric care and treatment, as well as work in acute psychiatry and/or emergency care, is advantageous.

Employment Conditions

Permanent full-time employment, day/evening/weekend. Selection and interviews are conducted continuously. Start date by agreement. A probationary period may apply.

Addiction Center Stockholm applies alcohol and drug testing as well as background checks before hiring. The position is filled under the condition that it is not needed for internal relocation, according to current regulations.

For patient-related work within the Stockholm County healthcare area:

  • Background checks are applied before hiring decisions according to SLSO's overarching guidelines for background checks during employment.
  • Employees who will have patient contact must undergo a pre-employment health examination, according to current directives, which is done through occupational health services before employment.
  • In addition to Swedish professional certification, good knowledge of the Swedish language corresponding to level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) is required. The same requirements apply to non-licensed staff with patient contact.
