The forensic psychiatry in Örebro consists of four departments with a total of 34 inpatient care places. The patients who are with us have been transferred to care instead of prison and are treated according to the Act on Forensic Psychiatric Care (LRV). The care periods are relatively long as the patients have complex issues, and the work is systematic, varied, and stimulating. On Ward 7, located in Mellringe, there are seven care places, and here the patients are in psychiatric rehabilitation. Each patient has a cross-professional team around them that, together with the patient, works on the individual's issues. We work with a focus on the individual and collaborate with other care providers as well as relatives. Part of the rehabilitation takes place outside the ward, where permissions, activities, and cooperation with other actors in the care chain constitute a significant part. We are now looking for two committed caregivers who, with drive and interest, want to work with patients sentenced to forensic psychiatric care. Within the forensic psychiatric operation, we investigate, treat, and rehabilitate individuals sentenced to forensic psychiatric care. The operation consists of several care departments and an outpatient team. Together, we are around 90 employees working with common processes and goals. We work in multiprofessional teams based on a holistic view of the individual and tailor the care interventions to the patient's needs and conditions. We strive to promote the involvement of relatives in the care.

The care is person-centered with the patient in focus, and as a caregiver, you are the one in the team who primarily works with the psychiatric care of the patient in their treatment. You work together with nurses, doctors, psychologists, occupational therapists, outpatient nurses, and social workers. You also need to be able to work independently and be flexible, as well as have the ability to notice and articulate the specific needs within your area that exist for each individual patient. The tasks are varied, and as a caregiver, you work both individually and in group activities around the patients. You are also expected to contribute to the development of the operation and take responsibility for improving the parts of the care you are responsible for.

As we in Psychiatry care about our patients and value patient safety highly, we will request extracts from the suspicion and criminal records from the Swedish Police Authority in connection with the recruitment. We welcome you who are a trained caregiver/nursing assistant, preferably with a focus on psychiatry according to the previous program structure, or are a trained nursing assistant within the current program structure. You may also have completed caregiver training as a YH education.
