We are looking for everyday heroes!
Do you want to make a difference for someone else? Do you have free time that you would be willing to share with a child/youth with disabilities and/or social difficulties? Become a respite caregiver!
What we offer you!
We are looking for respite caregivers for children living in Hässleholm municipality.
Being a respite caregiver means that you support and help the child so that the parents can, for example, attend meetings or socialize, shop, or do an activity with another sibling. You support the child with what they need at that moment. Your tasks may include playing, gaming, assisting with basic hygiene, care, and other daily activities. The assistance takes place at home or in the local area, for example, it is okay to go to a nearby playground.
Respite care is a support according to the Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons (LSS) or the Social Services Act (SoL). The assignment as a respite caregiver can vary in size depending on the number of hours the child is granted. There is no scheduled working time, but the hours are usually distributed in the evenings and on weekends. It is you and the family who agree on when the hours will be performed. Payment is hourly.
It is important that you have good social skills, can take the initiative for various activities, and at the same time be responsive to the child's needs and wishes. Since we match the assignment based on shared interests, we would like you to write in your personal letter what you enjoy doing in your free time. We try to match respite caregivers with children that we believe will get along well together. Experience or education is usually not required, but if you have this, it can be an advantage. Please explain in your letter why you are interested in becoming a respite caregiver. Personal suitability is of great importance.
