Description
The Västfastigheter operations area is responsible for operation, supervision, maintenance, and corrective maintenance as well as customer service.
Our properties are complex and technically challenging. With our specialist knowledge and understanding of our customers' conditions, we help create the prerequisites for life-saving care.
The Hospital Properties Operations area at SU is responsible for the operation and maintenance of buildings and outdoor environments for the Sahlgrenska University Hospital's properties in Gothenburg and Mölndal, which include Östra Hospital, Sahlgrenska, Högsbo Hospital, and Mölndal Hospital. We perform supervision and maintenance, and address faults.
We are now looking for an operations manager for the Sterile and Technical Property Operations unit at SU!
The Role of Operations Manager
As an operations manager, you have overall responsibility for operations, personnel, budget, and work environment. Furthermore, you will participate in and lead the procurement of service agreements, be part of the management team, and be responsible for ensuring that the operational assignment is followed and executed within your area of responsibility. The unit is spread across Gothenburg and Mölndal at the four hospitals included in the area, and they support each other and have close collaboration.
The unit has 14 technicians divided into different focus areas, and a operations specialist who coordinates sterile services at the various hospitals, all reporting to you. The focus areas within the unit include responsibility for equipment and costs related to waste management. There are also workshops for the repair of beds and other rolling stock. The unit is also responsible for the storage function at Sahlgrenska and has a local responsibility at Högsbo Hospital. As an operations manager, you will be able to start your day at one of the hospitals and during the day move between hospitals to meet your staff and the different operations.
As support in your managerial role, you have your colleagues within the management team, HR, and finance. Through trust-based leadership, you support, develop, and motivate your employees so that together you achieve the organization's goals and meet customer demands.
You report to the area manager.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with experience as a manager, preferably within a larger organization and from the technical industry or a related field, with an understanding and interest in technology. Post-secondary education in property technology or a similar field is seen as an advantage but is not a requirement.
The position of operations manager consists of both strategic and operational work, and personal qualities related to our managerial criteria weigh heavily in the recruitment. You have an easy time seeing the big picture and breaking down vision and goals so that they become understandable for technicians in everyday life. Your communicative style makes you informative and follow up, and you understand that information is received differently by different individuals. The role involves a lot of collaboration with various parties, which makes collaboration skills and enjoying collaboration very important. You have no problem being proactive and actively seeking information or seeking support from your surroundings when needed. The ability to make decisions is central, as the operations are sometimes conducted under pressure.
Recruitment Process

The executive recruitment process in Västra Götaland Region is based on the region's four managerial criteria: Value-based leadership, Goal- and result-oriented leadership, Communicative leadership, and Development-oriented leadership. The tests are planned for week 10 or 11 with feedback via Teams on March 12.
