Position: Operations Technician Wastewater

The wastewater operations in Orust municipality are under strong development, and we are now looking for an operations technician focused on wastewater management. It is an exciting and varied role, where you will have the opportunity to influence the operations together with an engaged team.

In this role, you will work closely with other operations technicians in wastewater management, where we work unpretentiously, independently, and take our own initiatives, while also supporting and helping each other when needed.

The organization currently consists of:

• Unit Manager
• Lead Operations Engineer Water
• Five Operations Technicians in Wastewater Management
• One Operations Technician in Water Management

We are currently in the final phase of the new construction and renovation of our largest wastewater treatment plant in Ellös, which will have a capacity for 20,000 population equivalents. In connection with this, several smaller plants will be phased out, while some will remain during a transition period.

As an operations technician in wastewater management, you will play a central role in maintaining and optimizing the new treatment plant in Ellös, in close collaboration with other operations technicians, as well as managing the Svanesund wastewater treatment plant and our 100+ pump stations. It is a role that combines technology, responsibility, and development.

Your tasks

As an operations technician in wastewater management, you will be responsible for ensuring that we meet our environmental requirements at our wastewater treatment plants, monitoring and controlling the treatment process, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, documenting completed work, and ordering necessary work through our framework agreement suppliers in our wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and LTA stations. On-call duty may be included in the position.

• Process optimization and follow-up Ensure that the facilities operate energy-efficiently and with a high level of treatment.
• Quality control and environmental reporting Conduct sampling, follow up on results, and report according to applicable environmental requirements.
• Operation and maintenance planning Update plans for preventive maintenance and manage acute operational disturbances.
• Collaboration with the pipeline network group Work closely with colleagues in the wastewater pipeline network to optimize the overall wastewater management.

About you

We are looking for a driven and responsible operations technician with a strong interest in technology and processes, as well as a natural ability to prioritize and manage tasks efficiently. You are a communicative, solution-oriented team player. As a person, you are curious and meticulous.

The role requires good judgment, economic awareness, and the ability to make well-founded decisions – even in complex situations. Your stability and solution-oriented approach enable you to handle challenges with professionalism and contribute to high and long-term operational reliability.

Requirements:

• Relevant high school education or work experience in a technical field
• B driver's license (manual)
• Good computer skills
• Proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written

Desirable knowledge or experience in:

• Work experience in the water and wastewater sector
• Process control and optimization
• Practical operations and maintenance work
• Electrical knowledge
• Automation knowledge
