Hematology Clinic at Linköping University Hospital

The Hematology Clinic at Linköping University Hospital provides highly specialized care in hematology and has a strong research focus.

We treat and investigate hematological diseases of all kinds, including malignant diseases and non-malignant conditions that require more advanced treatment or investigation. We are part of the Southeast Healthcare Region and are located in the O-building at the University Hospital. We actively work with quality assurance, are an accredited stem cell transplantation facility according to JAICE, and are also accredited in cancer care as part of the Linköping Comprehensive Cancer Center (LCCC). We have both acute and planned admissions, with patients aged 18 and older, and the length of stay varies from a few days to several weeks. The clinic includes day care/outpatient services, a cell therapy unit, and a clinical trial unit. We perform the latest treatments in cell therapy, known as CAR-T cell therapy (Chimeric Antigen Receptor) and BiTe therapy.

Our Offer

At the hematology department, we place great importance on the development and engagement of our staff. We offer broad opportunities for both career and competence development tailored to individual goals and the needs of the organization. We strive to create a good and sustainable work environment where collaboration, participation, and well-being are at the center. Work with us is characterized by variety and versatility in tasks, providing opportunities for both professional development and a stimulating work life. Everything we do has a clear focus on patient benefit and quality of care, where each employee's competence and contribution is an important part of the whole.

In the beginning: Focus on personal development and offer a structured introduction lasting about six weeks, with the goal of having the same supervisor throughout the introduction and a long-term individual development plan. During the introduction, training in safe medication and cytostatics handling, theoretical study days, and observation in other sections of the clinic such as outpatient/day care, research nursing section, and the cell therapy unit will take place.

Later: We offer career development programs within the Center for Surgery, Orthopedics, and Cancer Care (CKOC) with the opportunity to specialize in one of our core areas. We provide a competence supply plan to promote good career development. For example, in-depth training in cytostatics handling (cytostatics license) and hematology training is offered both internally and externally. Later, there is the possibility to apply for a training position with further education in medicine or oncology. Eventually, expanded assignments with increased responsibility may be offered to promote employee-driven development. There are rotation opportunities within the clinic, for example between outpatient/day care and the ward.

Other Offers

Individual schedule planning in Tessa is offered. With us, you have the opportunity to work every third weekend instead of every other or two out of five weekends, thanks to our systematic staffing with rotation between sections. This provides better predictability, a more even workload, and a sustainable balance between work and leisure, while optimizing the clinic's staffing and work environment. We actively work for healthy working hours. Regular internal training time and the opportunity to work on further development of your own area of responsibility in nursing are offered. We also provide the opportunity to schedule reading/administration/responsibility days.
