The ambulance service assesses and treats patients at home, at the scene of an accident, and during transport to the hospital, and is also responsible for transports where care during transport is necessary. Ambulance service Västerbotten performs around 32,000 missions in the county. In Åsele, we have our emergency vehicle that works with acute care in collaboration with Åsele municipality.

All our new colleagues within the Ambulance Service Västerbotten undergo our introductory training so you gain good insight, understanding, and basic security in your role within ambulance care. Areas you will participate in during the introductory training include, for example, From alarm to handover, Work environment, Systematic care, Treatment guidelines, Triage, CPR, Rakel communication, Traffic and vehicles, Medical leader and medically responsible, Weather and terrain, Pregnancy and childbirth.

The employment is a permanent position in Region Västerbotten currently located in Lycksele until 2025-10-31 with a possible extension. Upon employment, your placement will be in Lycksele, but we also offer the possibility of rotation. In your application, you can indicate which other locations you would be willing to work at. We also offer participation in scheduling and attractive working hours at our stations in Southern Lapland.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a nurse with us, you contribute knowledge and commitment that makes people feel safe.

As a nurse in the ambulance, you meet patients of all ages who have suffered from acute illness or injury or who need care during transport. You assess and treat patients at home, at the scene of an accident, and during transport to a healthcare facility. The job is about making a difference for others and showing humility while maintaining calm in demanding situations.

In the ambulance, you work in teams consisting of nurse-nursing assistant or nurse-nurse. Our nurses have the medical responsibility. You and your colleague also have the ultimate responsibility to check at the beginning of each shift and throughout the shift that the ambulance has the correct equipment so you can perform your duties safely for the patients.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse. It is an advantage if you are specialized in ambulance care or have another specialization that we consider valuable for the operation. Experience in emergency care is also an advantage.

You have a B driver's license and good driving experience. You master Swedish in both speech and writing.

Working in ambulance care can be physically demanding, so we require physical endurance. As part of the recruitment process, you will undergo a fitness test and driving test.
