The Nephrology Clinic at the University Hospital in Linköping is looking for someone who wants to work as a locum doctor in nephrology and who wants to work closely with patients and in a person-centered manner. Our clinic is responsible for kidney care in central and western Östergötland. Our main task is to investigate and treat patients with medical kidney diseases and to treat patients with chronic kidney failure.

Job Description

The operation consists of a care department (B173), a kidney outpatient clinic, and three dialysis units (two in Linköping and one in Motala). Adjacent to department B173, there is also a day care and acute dialysis unit. In our care department, both nephrological and internal medicine patients are investigated and treated; sometimes patients with rheumatological diseases are also cared for, who are rounded by doctors from the Rheumatology Clinic. We work closely with patients and in a team-based manner in our care department.

As a locum doctor, you will primarily serve in the nephrology care department with standard locum doctor tasks such as patient assessments, daily notes, admissions/discharges, and referrals. You will collaborate closely with the responsible specialist. You may be offered support work during weekends and may sometimes serve in the clinic's other units. You will receive an introduction together with one of our ST doctors in the department and ongoing guidance from experienced colleagues.

About You

We are looking for someone who has completed or will complete term 10 of the medical program before the summer of 2026. Good language skills in Swedish, both spoken and written, are required (at least C1). We prefer that you have an interest in nephrology and internal medicine. Previous locum doctor positions and work as a medical assistant are meritorious but not a requirement. Familiarity with the Cosmic journal system is an advantage.

Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. We are looking for someone who is meticulous, has good teamwork skills, is flexible, and communicative.
