Seasonal Worker in Green Space Management

Do you have knowledge of plants and green space management and enjoy working outdoors? We are now looking for seasonal workers for the Streets/Parks and Property/Recreation departments. Perhaps you are the one we are looking for?

The Streets/Parks and Property/Recreation units are part of the Public Environment Department. Our department is responsible for the construction, operation, and maintenance of the municipality's public spaces such as streets, parks, and recreational facilities.

The Technical Administration consists of about 150 employees within the departments of public environment, water and waste, as well as the service department. We are responsible for ensuring that the municipality's traffic environment is safe and accessible, and that children, youth, and the elderly receive nutritious food in the municipality's preschools, schools, and special accommodations. We also ensure that the residents of Kristinehamn have access to clean, fresh, and good drinking water. Additionally, we handle the collection of household waste and operate the municipality's waste facility.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

You will primarily work with various forms of maintenance of the municipality's green areas and street environments.

Examples of tasks include:

• weeding in public plantings and hard surfaces
• lawn mowing/trimming
• planting and caring for seasonal plants, perennial plantings, shrubs, and trees.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you to apply for this position if you have:

• a B driver's license for manual transmission
• good knowledge of plants and green space management or a curiosity and interest in learning

If you also have education or previous experience in gardening/garden machinery, we consider that an advantage.

In this job, you need to be self-sufficient and take responsibility for your tasks. You also need to be flexible and have an interest and willingness to learn. The work will be done both independently and in a group, so we expect you to enjoy collaborating and contribute to a good atmosphere, creating a safe and welcoming climate in the workgroup. Finally, you enjoy being active, have the will and ability to provide good service, and are engaged in your work.

In this recruitment, we will place great emphasis on personal qualities.

The seasonal work will take place from March/April until October/November, but depending on the needs of the units, the work may end earlier.
