Our Operations

We are located just a few minutes' walk from the central station in Uppsala, in the Samariterhemmet care center. Here we receive patients who are operated on in our surgical department, with lengths of stay varying from a couple of hours to two days. Here you will meet patients with varying surgical diagnoses.

The operations are conducted Monday to Friday and consist of four operating rooms, an admission unit, a recovery area, and a ward with six beds. The ward (inpatient care) is open from Tuesday to Friday. We are a positive group that works closely together to continuously develop our care and provide a professional approach to our patients.

Your Mission

We offer you a stimulating work environment with varied planned surgery and great opportunities for development as a nurse. With us, you will receive personalized onboarding tailored to your previous experiences. You will become part of a skilled team that supports and helps each other while you will also work independently. Your tasks will vary between admissions, recovery, and the ward.

You will work comfortable hours Monday to Friday with about two evenings a week and possibly some occasional night shifts.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse. You thrive in teamwork, are flexible, take responsibility for your tasks, and ensure that the work moves forward with the patient in focus. We prefer that you have experience in surgical postoperative care and enjoy independent work. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

We offer a permanent position within the Department of Anesthesia, Surgery, and Intensive Care (AnOpIVA) with a primary placement at Samariterhemmet. A probationary period may apply.
