We are looking for a new school nurse!

Kjula School and Vallby School are two rural schools, ten kilometers from the center of Eskilstuna, in an idyllic setting that is growing. The schools belong to the same principal area. They are schools with a strong sense of community and a fantastic environment that is used in teaching. The schoolyard is large and invites play and movement during breaks. Kjula School has students from preschool to grade 6, approximately 310 students and 45 staff members. Vallby School has students from preschool to grade 3, approximately 100 students and 15 staff members.

Our professional and dedicated educators focus on the student and use many different methods to reach each student. We strive for every student to be seen and acknowledged positively every day. Our goal is for all students, based on their circumstances, to feel motivation, joy, and a desire to learn. All students should receive a well-rounded development both academically and socially, throughout the day in both school and after-school care. This means that the school, after-school activities, and student health work closely together.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a school nurse, you provide the medical expertise that supports the educational work and student health efforts. You work proactively and preventively with health-related issues and offer our students health visits and vaccinations according to a set program. You work four days at Kjula School and one day at Vallby School. We have a well-functioning collaboration in the student health team, and as a school nurse, you have close cooperation with the school's counselor. Together, you work proactively and preventively in the classrooms. For example, we have been working with MVP, a preventive initiative against violence and harassment.

As a new employee, you will receive orientation and training from a school nurse colleague and support from the Medical Student Health team. You will have the opportunity for knowledge exchange and contact with other school nurses through the network group you belong to. You will also participate in joint professional development organized by the Medical Student Health team, and there is an opportunity for group supervision with school nurse colleagues from other schools.

QUALIFICATIONS

You are a nurse with further education as a school nurse/school health care, district nurse, or health care for children/youth. Experience working with children/youth, preferably as a school nurse, is an advantage.

You have an understanding of our students' differences and the ability to meet them based on their situation and personality. You can independently take responsibility for your planning and areas of responsibility. We also value your ability to collaborate with various functions within the organization to provide the best possible support for students.
