Do you want to work at a school with commitment and a focus on development? With a positive and appreciative approach, we create good relationships. We choose to see opportunities that focus on the students' best qualities to achieve good academic results. Our vision is that with us, you will meet, rejoice, and succeed. We are now looking for someone interested in working preventively with students' health in the role of school nurse.

In our principal area Skogstorp and Hållsta, students range from grades F-9, and we have about 960 students. The principal area has around 110 employees and is located in Skogstorp-Hållsta. Both schools are situated south of Eskilstuna and have close access to forests and nature. In our staff group, we have a high proportion of qualified educators, providing both security and stability. We see the F-9 perspective as a good prerequisite for our work with our vision and our goal that all students should be eligible for upper secondary school after their time with us.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

With us, you will work with both younger and older students. A large part of your time will be spent working with grades 7-9 at Skogstorpsskolan, and one day a week you will be at Hållsta school working with grades F-6. Since we have another school nurse, there is a great opportunity for collaboration and support, for example, you will plan vaccinations together.

In this role, you will work with health visits, health conversations, vaccinations, and open reception. The focus will also be on health-promoting and preventive work. Your work will be guided by the needs of the students and with great freedom to manage your own calendar. Sometimes you will be in classrooms informing and supporting students. For example, you will create forums for discussions on various topics. You will be part of an experienced student health team that currently consists of the principal, assistant principals, special educators, school nurses, school counselors, school psychologists, study and career counselors, library educators, and the prevention team. We work with both everyday and preventive measures.

As a newcomer with us, you will receive an introduction and onboarding from a school nurse colleague and have support from the Medical Student Health team. You will have opportunities for knowledge exchange and contact with other school nurses through the network group you are part of. You will also participate in joint professional development organized by the Medical Student Health team, and there is an opportunity for group supervision together with school nurse colleagues at other schools.

QUALIFICATIONS

You are a nurse with further education as a school nurse/school health care, district nurse, or health and medical care for children/youth. It is an advantage if you have experience working with children/youth, preferably in the role of school nurse.

You understand our students' differences and have the ability to meet them based on their situation and personality. You can independently take responsibility for your planning and your areas of responsibility. Additionally, you have a good ability to collaborate with other professionals at the school; both internal and external collaboration is key to succeeding in the work. For us, it is important that you are clear and have the courage to raise issues in various contexts.

Warm welcome with your application!
