Your Role

As an algorithm engineer in our team, you will develop and optimize advanced algorithms for the control and navigation of complex autonomous systems. Your work will directly impact the performance, robustness, and precision of our products.

You will work on mathematically demanding problems where a deep understanding of control engineering, optimization methods, and modeling of dynamic systems is central. Your ability to translate theoretical concepts into practical, implementable solutions is crucial. As an algorithm engineer in our team, you will develop and optimize advanced algorithms for control, navigation, and route optimization.

Your responsibilities include:

• Developing and analyzing algorithms for control, navigation, and control
• Modeling and simulating dynamic systems of high complexity
• Formulating and solving optimization problems for real-time applications
• Implementing and verifying algorithms in simulation environments and hardware
• Analyzing the system's dynamic behavior and robustness
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of our methods and tools

The development work takes place in small, technically strong teams using modern tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, Git, and programming languages Ada, C, and C++. You will work in all phases from early concept development to final verification.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in technology and who is driven by solving complex problems with mathematical rigor and engineering pragmatism. You are forward-thinking and driven, seeing opportunities where others see limitations.

To succeed in this role, you need to build relationships and understand the need to communicate technically complex solutions clearly. You thrive both in collaboration with other sharp engineers and when you independently delve into challenging problems.

We prefer candidates who have:

• A Master's degree or equivalent competence, preferably in technical mathematics, control engineering, technical physics, or aerospace engineering.
• 3-10 years of relevant experience as a systems engineer or algorithm engineer.
• Documented experience in developing complex systems.
• A deep understanding of mathematics, control engineering, and modeling of dynamic systems.
• Practical experience with optimization methods and their applications.
• Good proficiency in MATLAB and Simulink.
• Good communication skills in both spoken and written Swedish and English.

It is advantageous if you have:

• Experience in implementation using Ada, C, or C++.
• Familiarity with version control using Git.
• Knowledge of SysML or other model-based system development methods.
• Experience with autonomous systems, flying vehicles, or the automotive industry.
• Experience with real-time algorithms and embedded systems.

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable security protection regulations. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may involve citizenship requirements.
