Your workplace

The Steril Technical Unit in Torsby is part of the Operations and Anesthesia Unit and consists of a team of four people within sterilization technology.

In total, we have 43 employees working in the operation, anesthesia, and sterilization departments. Our surgical unit conducts both emergency and planned surgical activities with highly specialized patient care. As an employee in the Steril Technical Unit, you will be responsible for the sterilization process, primarily for the surgical unit but also for other internal customers at the hospital.

We are a department in constant development, specialized in obesity surgery within the region. Additionally, we serve as a center for various types of hernia surgery (laparoscopic surgery), proctological procedures, and abdominal surgery where we use the latest equipment and the most modern methods. We also perform orthopedic surgeries, including hip and knee replacements as well as fracture surgery and are a center for revision knee surgery.

Our department also has an active endoscopy service. We work in a learning environment that means we are unpretentious and learn from each other in our teams, have a broad knowledge perspective, and maintain a positive spirit in the workplace.

We are looking for

Both a permanent position and a 6-month temporary position. Both positions are full-time with similar tasks, and employment is to start as soon as possible.

Your tasks

You will work with all tasks in the Steril Technical Unit, such as handling instruments after surgery, cleaning, inspection, functional testing, packaging, and sterilization of instruments.

You will work in the traceability system T-DOC and participate in development and improvement work. In your work, you will follow procedures and guidelines to ensure high quality.

Your knowledge and competencies

We are looking for someone with sterilization technician training with experience from surgical operations or a nursing assistant interested in the sterilization technician job. Experience from working in a surgical department is an advantage but not a requirement.

It is important for us that you have good collaboration skills, can easily adapt to changing conditions, and can handle varying tasks. We also see that you are meticulous and structured in your work and can work independently if required. We are keen to find the right person and place great emphasis on personal suitability.
