We are looking for an occupational therapist for inpatient care at the Central Hospital in Karlstad – a workplace with strong teamwork and a focus on patient needs.
Your workplace
The Rehabilitation Specialist Care at the Central Hospital in Karlstad is a unit within the health and rehabilitation operational area.
Approximately 80 employees work in occupational therapy, physiotherapy, and music and art therapy within the Rehabilitation Specialist Care. The unit also employs rehabilitation assistants. Rehabilitation Specialist Care works with rehabilitation across several different clinics at the Central Hospital in Karlstad, such as neurology, geriatrics, oncology, infection, pediatrics, women's clinic, surgery, medicine, orthopedics, ICU, among others, in both outpatient and inpatient care.
Within the Rehabilitation Specialist Care, there are about 25 occupational therapists, which provides good opportunities for collegial exchange and knowledge transfer. There is close collaboration in daily operations, which means we help and support each other. We work based on a career development model that describes how one can develop in their clinical work.
Working in our organization requires flexibility as well as a willingness and ability to work both in teams and independently. We believe that healthcare must be based on our patients' needs and our employees' competencies. We want to drive healthcare forward together with our employees.
In Region Värmland, we work with health-promoting workplaces, which means we focus on wellness factors, offer opportunities for physical activity during work hours, and provide wellness grants. The region as an employer also has other benefits. For example, as a permanent employee, you receive a 50% discount on annual public transport passes.
Your tasks
We are now looking for an occupational therapist for inpatient care. You will be part of a smaller workgroup where there is very close collaboration with each other to meet patients' needs for occupational therapy assessments and interventions. There are a total of 14 occupational therapists in inpatient care who also collaborate between the smaller workgroups to meet patients' needs. This may involve short interventions where occupational therapy activity assessment is important for continued planning, as well as longer rehabilitation periods for patients with extended hospital stays where you are part of the team around the patient.
Your knowledge and competencies
We are looking for you who are a licensed occupational therapist with an interest in rehabilitation and who wants to help develop the organization together with others in the team. Experience from similar work is considered an advantage. However, even if you are new to your profession as an occupational therapist, we welcome your application. As a person, you are secure, structured, and independent. You collaborate well with others and consider the best interests of the entire organization in your actions and decision-making. Interviews may occur continuously during the application period.
