About Us

Thoraxcentrum provides highly specialized cardiac and thoracic surgical care as well as care in the areas of invasive electrophysiology, pacemaker, ICD/CRT, invasive cardiology/PCI, and TAVI.

Approximately 200 employees work within the clinic across care, intensive care, and radiology departments, as well as in outpatient and surgical operations. We have a broad and varied scope of work and conduct both acute and planned activities. We are a professional knowledge organization characterized by high quality of care, a willingness to develop, responsibility, and participation. Ward 55 is a thoracic surgical ward that works with pre- and postoperative cardiac and thoracic surgical care.

Patients who have undergone invasive electrophysiological procedures, ICD/CRT implantations, invasive cardiology/PCI, TAVI, and medical cardiology come to us. We also offer service in the Thorax admission and day care department. Here, patients come for preparation, admission, treatment, and aftercare in connection with surgery and/or treatment.

The department is currently undergoing an organizational initiative, where a large part of the work is to create good working conditions for the staff. Employment with us means that you will participate in scheduled educational efforts. We have two instructional nurses who work with introduction and competence-enhancing activities for gradual development.

About the Job

The tasks in Ward 55 consist of pre-operative preparations, postoperative care of cardiac and thoracic surgery patients, cardiological care, and the use of medical technology equipment such as telemetry and topaz drainage. You will have the opportunity to gain breadth in your nursing profession as we care for patients with varying disease profiles who have undergone different procedures and treatments, both acute and planned. With us, you will receive an individualized introduction including mentorship.

About You

You are a licensed nurse or in the final term of your nursing program. Previous experience in thoracic surgical care or further education is advantageous.
