We have opportunities for various placements such as resource service, PAS – patient responsible nurse during the day, as well as within the evening and night organization.

“Being a nurse in the municipality means that I can combine the best of different worlds. With one patient, I provide emergency care with IV fluids and antibiotics, with the next I assess after a fall. One patient is palliative, and there I have a lot of family conversations and contacts with the palliative team. I conduct training for nursing staff on a medical condition that is not previously known. I round with my doctor and have gathered questions I need help with based on the patients' health conditions. I often follow my patients for a long time, which allows us to build relationships; this facilitates my assessments when I know the patient and promotes good and safe care,” says Sofia, a nurse in Karlshamns municipality.

Job Description:
When you work as a licensed nurse in Karlshamns municipality, you plan and carry out your work independently. You have your work list for the shift and you base your work on the patients' needs. As a nurse in Karlshamns municipality, you work either during the day and every sixth weekend, or in the evening and night with every third weekend within our emergency service. You have a leading role towards delegated nursing staff throughout the day.

Qualifications:
We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse, preferably with some relevant specialist training for the service. We would like you to have experience from municipal home care. If you also have experience in psychiatry or palliative care, we would be especially pleased. You feel secure in your profession and can work independently. The job requires flexibility and the ability to organize and structure. You encounter a broad field of work where one day is not like the other. You see the value of good cooperation and contribute to this through drive and engagement.

Furthermore, we want you to be able to take initiative easily and care about quality and patient safety. You are accustomed to using a computer as a working tool. The job requires qualified communicative skills, which includes good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing. A B driver's license for manual transmission is required. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
