We currently have an offer for those who apply and are hired at SiS Youth Home Johannisberg, unit Kalix, which includes an additional salary supplement of 3,000 SEK/month for 18 months in addition to the individual base salary.

Job Description

SiS Youth Home Johannisberg is a high-security institution beautifully located next to the Kalix River in the quiet residential area of Grytnäs. The institution is in a phase of development and expansion where work is ongoing to increase staffing and security. Our target group in Kalix is boys aged 16 - 21 placed according to the Law on Closed Youth Care and the Law on Care of Young People. All work is permeated by our guiding principles: Respect, Care, and Clarity. As a new employee with us, you will receive thorough introduction and guidance from an experienced colleague, basic training, and professional development in areas such as security, unauthorized influence, conflict management, CPR, and more.

As a treatment pedagogue, you will work in a team on the department with competent colleagues who are waiting for you to become part of the team. As a treatment pedagogue, you and your colleagues are responsible for ensuring that the youth living with us receive the safety, care, and treatment they need. You provide support to the youth in their daily lives and work with qualified care and motivational work. Being a contact person is part of your duties. Daily work includes building trusting relationships and motivating our youth towards new and less risky ways of living. With your knowledge in care and treatment work, you actively contribute to ensuring that treatment plans and documentation are followed, as well as maintaining safety for both youth and staff according to our routines. As a treatment pedagogue, you also contribute to the daily flow of school attendance, cleaning, cooking, and more. The job may also include mentoring new employees and interns. This is a job for you who see a positive challenge in working with people in complex life situations to create change. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

Working hours are scheduled according to a rolling shift pattern including days, evenings, and weekends.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has the ability to build trusting relationships with our youth. You have a positive view of people and your drive is to work with young people. You share SiS's values of being a place for change. As a person, you relate to others in a responsive and flexible manner while being able to set boundaries and follow decisions made. You are secure, stable, and have the ability to maintain a professional demeanor even in pressured situations. You work well with others and are happy to share your knowledge with colleagues.

You should also have:

  • A minimum of 2-year post-secondary education from a folk high school or vocational school (KY/YH) or other education equivalent to this. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant subject area.
  • Good Swedish in speech and writing
  • Good physical ability

Please attach your degree certificate for post-secondary education to your application. Degree certificates issued in another country must be translated and validated in Sweden through the Swedish Council for Higher Education (UHR).

Meritorious:

  • Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, for example, in correctional care, psychiatry, care, and support, or equivalent
  • Driver's license B

Employment

The positions are permanent full-time employment and begin with a 6-month probationary period. Start date by agreement.
