PMU SECOND HAND – Your find changes lives and the environment
PMU Second Hand is Sweden's most nationwide second-hand chain. Together with our partner congregations/associations, we operate 56 stores from Trelleborg to Haparanda. 23 of these are fully managed by PMU, which means we have direct employer responsibility there. The purpose of the stores is to create financial resources for the international projects that PMU or our partners support. Through the stores, we also make significant social contributions locally. Shopping second-hand is also the most environmentally friendly option for consumption. We want to challenge the congregations to see PMU Second Hand as a tool for the congregation to be just that – a congregation.
We believe that a second-hand store needs to be run in a businesslike manner, but customers must still feel that they are making great finds. We want to make donors, employees, and customers feel that they are truly part of changing lives and the environment. Everyone's contributions are so important.
Our mission as a central organization is to provide support to the stores to run and develop their operations successfully. We also have a mission to start more stores.
ABOUT THE STORE
The store is centrally managed by PMU Second Hand but operated locally in collaboration with the Pentecostal Church in Karlskoga.
The goals of the store are to:
- generate financial surplus for social and humanitarian efforts through the projects that PMU and the congregation are engaged in
- be a social meeting place
- provide employment for people outside the regular labor market
- actively make a significant difference for our environment
- spread knowledge about the situation in developing countries
- be a platform to make PMU and the congregation, and thus the gospel, better known in Karlskoga
ABOUT THE POSITION
As a team leader, you will work alongside other staff to lead volunteers and individuals in various forms of work training. The role of the team leader is very hands-on, where your own execution of the work also leads and develops others. You will assist the operations manager and store manager in the daily operations of the store, which largely involves creating as much turnover of donated goods as possible.
The operations manager is your immediate supervisor, and you will receive good central support from the regional manager, store developer, marketing communicator, and management team. The position is full-time and starts in May or by agreement.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
As a person, you are organized, results-oriented, and clear in your communication, as well as having good knowledge of the Swedish language. You will have extra responsibility for certain product groups represented in the store, so if you have knowledge in household items, fashion, furniture, textiles, or similar, it is an advantage. You should have experience in similar jobs and love second-hand. However, you can also bring other important experience that can contribute to the growth of our store.
Your social skills are very important, and we will base our decision on personal suitability. You have an open and representative manner and have a good ability to develop and lead people based on their own conditions.
If you are applying …
- Want to be part of changing lives and the environment
- Have experience in leading others
- Can educate, motivate, and inspire store employees
- Share our Christian faith and values
- Have a driver's license
