The position is located within the Health and Care Administration, which is one of eight administrations in Linköping municipality. The Health and Care Administration is responsible for the municipality's elderly care, health care, authority exercise, ordering services, and provides care and support in its own right. Your Responsibilities

In May 2026, Linköping municipality will take over the responsibility for home care and sheltered housing in Skäggetorp.

Within home care, you provide support and care directly in people's homes. Here you have the opportunity to truly make a difference and become a crucial part of someone's life every day. You will encounter a wide variety of needs and challenges, making the work both diverse and rewarding.

Your tasks are varied and based on each individual's needs. This includes, among other things, caregiving and personal hygiene, cleaning, laundry, simple meal preparation, and social interaction. The work also includes certain delegated healthcare tasks from a nurse. Your mobile phone is your primary work tool, showing which visits you have and what needs to be done. You also have contact with relatives and other stakeholders. Your engagement contributes to more people being able to continue living an independent life in their own homes.

Together with our 1,500 employees, we work to ensure that the residents of Linköping have a meaningful and dignified existence. Every year, we provide care and support for approximately 4,100 people and contribute to the municipality's development within the sector.

Skäggetorp sheltered housing is located in Skäggetorp center with 35 apartments. The sheltered housing has a gym for our elderly and access to a lunch restaurant. Home care is also provided in the residential area and its surroundings.

We would like you to start before May 1 to offer a thorough introduction in one of our existing operations. Your working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, and every other weekend. Common working hours are from 07:00 to 16:00 and 13:00 to 22:00.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone with work experience from one of the following sectors: care, support and assistance, service, retail, or restaurant, or another related field that involves contact with and service to others.

We consider it an advantage if you have a complete high school education, especially if you are a trained nursing assistant. We also see it as a strong merit if you have experience working in support, care, and assistance.

Work in elderly care involves a lot of contact with users and documentation, which means it is a requirement that you can communicate verbally and in writing in Swedish. We also consider additional language skills as an advantage.

You have good computer skills and the ability to use digital tools in your work. You need to be able to cycle, and having a B driver's license is an advantage.

You are self-driven and take responsibility for your tasks and drive your work forward. You also work well with others and listen and communicate clearly, with the ability to adapt your communication style. It is also important that you have an empathetic ability and can understand others' perspectives and situations.
