Project Managers for the Street and Traffic Department in Falkenberg Municipality

Here in Falkenberg Municipality, you can make a significant difference. Our job is to provide good municipal services at all stages of life. We are also involved in developing Falkenberg as a place. Our vision is to grow for a sustainable future.

Falkenberg is in an expansive phase as the city grows, from new residential areas and business projects to preschools and schools, creating exciting challenges in urban planning. Today, 47,000 residents live in the municipality.

The Street and Traffic Department is a crucial piece in many of the processes the municipality works on to create an attractive community that attracts visitors, residents, and businesses. The department currently consists of 13 dedicated and knowledgeable employees responsible for the operation and maintenance of the municipality's streets, roads, and squares, traffic safety issues, authority decisions in the traffic area, street lighting, excavation applications, road associations, parking supervision, and more. The department is also responsible for the municipality's infrastructure investments, as well as planning and implementing expansion projects.

We are currently in an exciting development phase, and therefore we are looking for two new project managers who want to contribute to a safe, accessible, and sustainable Falkenberg.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a project manager with us, you will lead investments in the municipality's infrastructure. You will be involved from idea to finished street and contribute directly to how Falkenberg grows and develops. The projects can involve everything from new construction and redesign of streets and squares to improvements in traffic environments, stormwater management, or accessibility.

In the role of project manager, you are responsible for the project's timeline, budget, quality, work environment, and environmental aspects. Managing the construction process and maintaining contact with various stakeholders, such as the municipality's relevant administrations, residents, authorities, and clients, are central responsibilities of the position. You will also be involved in early stages and detailed planning work, where you contribute with technical knowledge and project perspective.

You will work together with both colleagues in the municipality and contractors, external consultants, authorities, and road associations, which makes it important that you have good collaboration skills, are attentive, and at the same time clear and structured. You will also have a lot of contact with residents and respond to questions and comments. You represent the municipality in many different contexts, and it is important to have a professional approach and good communication.

Since we are looking for two new project managers, responsibilities and the scope of projects may be adjusted according to your skills and experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with an engineering degree focused on construction and civil engineering, urban planning, road and water, or other education or experience that the employer deems equivalent. You have a good understanding of how construction documents are structured and applied, as well as knowledge of the AMA system, contract law, and general regulations (AB04, ABT06). Training in BAS-P and BAS-U and work on the road is an advantage.

You have several years of experience leading projects in land and construction, for example as a project manager, construction manager, site manager, or assignment manager. It is an advantage if you have previously worked in a politically governed organization and understand its conditions and requirements. You are a confident project manager with a good ability to handle projects at various stages and of varying complexity.

To succeed in the role, you need to be proactive, structured, and have a strong commitment to community development. You work systematically and methodically, with the ability to plan and prioritize from a long-term perspective but also act quickly when required.

You have a good understanding of project economics and are accustomed to working with budgets, forecasts, and follow-ups. Knowledge of contracts and negotiation skills are advantageous. Your collaboration skills are very good, as is your ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish.

We believe you are analytical, creative, and see the big picture in complex projects. You have a pedagogical and communicative ability that inspires and supports your colleagues. You are comfortable working independently, but just as much a team player.

Knowledge of LOU, stormwater, geotechnics, bridge or tunnel projects, as well as experience in municipal planning processes are advantageous.

You are used to working in Office 365 and other common IT tools.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

A valid driver's license (B) is a requirement.
