We are looking for a Railway Construction Manager (civil engineering) for Trafikverket.

This is a consulting assignment based in Halmstad.

The position is full-time.

The assignment involves close collaboration with the client, which places high demands on flexibility and teamwork.

The Assignment

As a Railway Construction Manager (civil engineering), you will support construction management and project management in collaboration with the contractor under the guidance of the client's project manager. You will ensure that the contract is planned, quality assured, and executed according to contracts, plans, budgets, permits, and other agreements, while monitoring the project's technology, economy, time, quality, environment, work environment, and safety. The Construction Manager acts as the client's representative on the construction site and is responsible for documentation and follow-up within the assigned technical area.

Responsibilities

Review and provide feedback on the contractor's drawings and other documents, and check these on-site together with the project manager to ensure that the contract, drawings, and plans are followed.

Follow up on schedules, costs, and orders, and assist with forecasts for the project's final cost.

Ensure that the authorities' and client's requirements are met and monitor technology, economy, time, quality, environment, work environment, and safety with reporting according to the control program.

Follow construction methods and detailed construction plans, manage deviations, change and additional work, and quantity deviations according to the project's routines.

Participate in design, evaluation of technical solutions, construction and economic meetings, as well as quality and environmental work.

Ensure that the contractor's self-monitoring of quality, environment, safety, and work environment is carried out according to agreed plans.

Participate in procurement, contact with authorities, designers, property owners, and main contractors, and coordinate with other technical branches and adjacent contracts.

Monitor authority permits, be responsible for inspections and assessments, and assist in compiling final documentation.

Ensure that norms, construction requirements, and regulations are followed by the designer and/or contractor and provide technical advice.

Requirements (NOTE, mandatory)

Ability to express oneself well in Swedish both orally and in writing.

Experience from working in project groups where coordination has been important.

Driver's license B

At least 3 years of work experience (as a construction manager or supervisory role such as production manager, site manager, or equivalent in construction projects) within the relevant technical area (general railway). The work experience should not be older than 10 years.

Knowledge of laws and regulations as well as standards and regulations within the relevant assignment area.

You must have completed BASÄSKYDD.

Basic education in Railway Engineering.

Basic education in contract law.

Experience in production planning in railway projects.

Desirable

You have three (3) years or more documented experience in cost estimation in railway projects.
