Do you want to help develop care – for real?

At the Gastrointestinal and Kidney Department 100B2, we are not just a care department; we test new ideas, working methods, and digital tools with the aim of creating a better work environment and an even safer care for our patients.

About us

We treat and investigate patients with gastrointestinal, liver, and kidney diseases. Many come from other regions, and we are proud to have permission to provide national highly specialized care in several diagnoses. This means that we work with advanced care in multidisciplinary teams – where competence, collaboration, and quality are at the center.

Your role with us

As a nurse, you work in a care team together with a nursing assistant and are responsible for 5–6 patients. The department also employs a clinical pharmacist whose task is to support medication-related questions and assist with, among other things, medication preparation. As a nurse, you also have close contact with a dietitian, physiotherapist, and social worker. Our patients come both acutely and planned, which provides variation and pace in the work.

You will have the opportunity to develop within highly specialized care, including pre- and postoperative nursing, and be involved in influencing how care is provided – every day.

We are looking for you who

  • Are a licensed nurse – preferably with experience, but it is not a requirement
  • Have good prioritization skills and are flexible in a varying work pace
  • Are positive, solution-focused, and contribute to a good work environment
  • Have an interest in development work and want to help improve care

We offer

  • Individually tailored introduction with regular follow-ups
  • Clinical development year for newly graduated – about 20% education time with maintained salary
  • Scheduled training tours and lectures
  • Opportunity to influence and test new working methods in a development-oriented environment
  • Strong team spirit and close collaboration with different professional groups

Conditions

  • Permanent employment 75–100%, start date March 1 or by agreement
  • Working hours: day, evening, night, and weekend
  • For night shifts, at least one year of experience as a nurse is required

With us, you will receive benefits that make a difference; read about the benefits here (https://regionuppsala.se/jobba-hos-oss/bli-var-nya-kollega/formaner/).

Region Uppsala places all permanently employed staff according to the needs of total defense. This means that for the individual employee, there are no obligations in peacetime but is solely a planning measure.

Before a hiring decision, a check of suspicion and criminal records will be conducted for all applicants who may work in psychiatric care, habilitation, care of children and adolescents, or involuntary care of substance abusers, areas that are subject to optional record extracts. This applies to all who will work closely with patients, even if the tasks are not primarily intended to involve work with the aforementioned patient groups.
