Orthopedic Department, Nyköping Hospital

From surgery to the first step - Follow the patient's entire journey in orthopedics.

About us

At our orthopedic department, you will become part of a safe and dedicated team that supports each other and enjoys their work. We have a modern department with plenty of space, contributing to a good working environment. Here, we have 16 patient beds and care for both acute and elective patients.

Our strength lies in the collaboration between nurses, nursing assistants, paramedics, and doctors – together we make a difference for our patients every day. We also have discharge coordinators and a receptionist, allowing all professional groups to focus on their core tasks. This contributes to a smoother flow and a better work climate.

We offer a safe and individualized onboarding process, and we value that everyone in the team can grow, take responsibility, and contribute to the development of the department. Here, the work environment and community are just as important as medical quality.

Your tasks

As a nurse with us, you will have the opportunity to develop specialized skills. You will primarily be responsible for patients with fractures and other injuries to the musculoskeletal system, but there are also patients with surgical and medical diagnoses. You will be involved throughout the process, from acute care to surgical preparation and aftercare when the patient takes their first steps again.

Here, you will not only have the opportunity to develop in your profession but also the chance to mentor students and influence working methods in the department.

Your qualifications

We are looking for a licensed nurse who wants to develop in orthopedic care. You have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, and a desire to use your skills in a varied job.

We believe you are a positive and engaged person who thrives in a team but can also take responsibility. You enjoy working at a varied pace and see the value of creating safety and continuity for patients. Experience in orthopedic care is a bonus – but most importantly, you are curious, eager to learn new things, and contribute to an environment where both patients and colleagues thrive.

Employment form

A permanent full-time position is offered, but other options can be discussed. Basic working hours are three shifts, but we are open to dialogue about other preferences – for example, only night, day/evening, or other arrangements. Start date according to agreement.

Information about the position is provided by

Unit manager Annika Bredberg, [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]), 072-083 32 80.
Union representatives can be reached via the contact center, 0155-24 50 00.
