Ground Safety Officer

We are looking for a Ground Safety Officer for the 3rd Naval Strike Flotilla, stationed at the flotilla staff. The staff supports and creates conditions for the commander of the 3rd Naval Strike Flotilla and the unit to plan, execute, and follow up on operations. The position is part of the support department/operational safety section, which consists of 3 people. In the operational safety section's team, we collaborate to solve assigned tasks.

Main Responsibilities

  • Act as the administrator and direct presenter of Ground Safety issues
  • Coordinate during MARKI inspections
  • Coordinate for the unit's weapon officers
  • Ensure that local regulations and instructions regarding ground safety are maintained
  • Be part of the unit's deviation group
  • Follow the ground-based unit together with the operational safety officer

Qualifications

  • Approved officer training OF/SO/RO
  • Hold a valid driver's license B

Meritorious

  • Be well acquainted with ground-based operations, such as ground combat
  • Previous experience in a similar position
  • Basic knowledge of regulations regarding operational safety
  • Vehicle instructor
  • Good knowledge of deviation reporting systems (PRIO)

Some of the training may be obtained through the unit's resources after taking up the position, depending on other qualifications.

You are positive, solution-focused, and responsible. You can quickly adapt to new conditions to solve tasks, sometimes with limited input values. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Other:

The position is military. Travel in service may occur. Permanent employment, which begins with a 6-month probationary period upon hiring. Employment includes the obligation to participate in training, exercises, and operations.

Regular workplace location Karlskrona. Salaries and benefits are regulated according to applicable agreements, with individual salary setting applied. Start date by agreement.

The Third Naval Strike Flotilla is a task force in the Swedish Navy. The flotilla has the capability to control maritime areas, shipping routes, and maritime traffic, conduct operations on and under the surface, and clear mines in harbor areas, coastal waters, and open sea. The unit operates both nationally and internationally. Ships and staff train both sailors and officers to be immediately ready for operational deployment. The flotilla also continuously contributes personnel to various international missions.

Year-round and around the clock, the flotilla contributes to security by patrolling and monitoring Swedish territorial waters.
