Healthcare Assistants Wanted for Pulmonary Medicine Care

About the position

With us, patients with various types of lung diseases are cared for. We investigate and treat major public diseases such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and asthma. We also investigate respiratory failure and underventilation, as well as initiate treatment with ventilators, long-term oxygen therapy, and preparations for lung transplants. Here, patients with pleuritis, pneumonia, empyema, and various inflammatory lung diseases such as sarcoidosis and pulmonary fibrosis are treated. Patients stay with us from one day up to a week.

In the role of healthcare assistant with us, you will gain knowledge of medical technology in pulmonary medical care by learning how to handle blood gas analysis, various types of drainage treatment, non-invasive ventilator treatment (NIV), and extended sampling in cases of fluid accumulation in the lungs. You will work closely with patients in a team with a nurse, where you together are responsible for the care of a total of 6 patients.

To ensure that you and your colleagues feel secure and receive continuous knowledge development, we have a nursing specialist who ensures that you get what you need to develop your skills.

The work is scheduled for both day and evening shifts. Weekend work is included.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Proof of protected professional title for healthcare assistants or an employer certificate confirming that you had permanent employment as a healthcare assistant on July 1, 2023, in accordance with the transitional provisions (2021:739) in the Patient Safety Act (2010:659). If you are applying with an employer certificate, you must attach your diploma from your healthcare assistant exam
• At least 1 year of experience working in a somatic care department and/or within somatic emergency care.
